All Day Play

I have been stewing over different patio ideas and trying to gather everything together to form some sort of inspiration for how I want to redo my patio.
I want it to feel like a little wonderland tea party, adventure of a patio.

Does this not make you want to have an outdoor tea party?

All of these dreamy little patios have cool vintage finds, which takes so much work to scavanger around for.
I wish that all I did in life was play .

My Weekend

A small window of relaxation in my crazy weekend.
Coral and I enjoy having breakfast together on a blanket in the back yard.
We lay and search for airplanes to fly above us.
Jump on the trampoline.
Make pictures of the clouds.
Forget about the homework, laundry, chores, and obligations waiting for me.

This weekend was literally a mad dash from one place to the next. I have been working on some flower girl dresses for my dear friend Erin. Thureday was the only day to do a fitting because one of the girls lives out of town. So I took Friday off work to sew, sew, and sew. Saturday was the birthday of the lovely Scarlet so we went to that then I came home and finished sewing. I stayed up late getting my make up kit ready to do the makeup for the bridal party on Sunday. Everything was beautiful. I danced my butt off, which is rare for me. The dresses were perfect and theladies looked lovely. Now I need to focus on getting my grade up in the last week of my class. The last few classes are draging; I can’t wait to be done with my degree.

Little Girl Soup

Today was the 3rd birthday of the lovely Scarlet.
The little ladies enjoyed some sprinklers and sunbathing while being served Spongebob cake.
I remember how excited I used to be as a kid to go to a friends birthday party.
Social event of the year.

Coral and I also went to the farmers market today and got more fruit and veggies than my fridge can handle.
We will be eating a lot of fruit in the next few days.

Lilo mowed the lawn to prepare for our upcoming BBQ festivity.
I must say that I am pretty pumped to be able to walk across the yard again.
It was literally past my knees.
Embarrassing.

The Loves of My Life

Meet Coral
This is my baby girl, Coral Ray.
She is a mischievous little rascal.
Some days I wonder how I ever lived without her. Everyday is the best day of her life, and mine. She tells me that I am her best friend.
And I believe her.

Meet Joey
I call him Lilo and I love him so dear.
We fell in love the first time we met and got married less than a month later.
He has yellow eyes and I like them lots.
When we are old and grey, we plan to travel the states in an RV and be so happy.
I can't wait.

Dear summer,

Please stop trying to ruin my life! Is it just me or is it darn near impossible to concentrate or be productive when the sunshine is beckoning? This is me normally: super productive and focused on my job, annoyingly positive and chipper, love going to work and helping people, good student. Today I woke up and did not want to go to work at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job (I am a finance advisor) but lately all I want to do is play outside. What the heck? I am about a week behind in my homework and not nearly as productive at work as normal. Normally during my lunch hour at work I do homework. Today, I had to leave so I drove home with my windows down blasting Lady Gaga just to get water out of my fridge and drive back to work. Who does that? Then when I got to work I sat in my car for a minute wishing that I was playing at the park with my sweet baby girl Coral. The weather is currently 66 degrees and there is a slight wind, just enough to fly a kite. Who wants to sit in a cubicle and review spreadsheets in this weather?

In other summer fun news, next weekend I will be getting ready for my BFF Kat who is going to come visit me from Kansas City the first weekend of May. We are going to have a BBQ at my house for everyone to come and see her. Right now my backyard is an overgrown disaster that would be way too embarrassing to have people come over and lounge in. I am going to spruce it up with a good mowing and some flowers. I also have to get an outdoor patio set. I don’t want it to be one of those boring ones where everything is all matchy and clearly from Home Depot though. My mission is to search the thrift stores for different wood pieces then paint them the same color for a touch of uniformity. Maybe I will make some outdoor pillows. Party planning is my favorite.

I defiantly making one of these tablecloths made of bandannas though, courtesy of good ‘ol Martha Stewart (I can’t help it if I love her). Click her name if you want the step by step instructions to copy her as well.

Anyone else have any fun ideas for a BBQ?

Adventure is Out There!

Lately I have been all but consumed with the idea of traveling. I love the idea of being a jet setting woman of the world. The idea of traveling the world and experiencing all that each place has to offer sounds like a dream come true if you ask me. I also think that it would be amazing to raise Coral understanding the importance of other cultures and seeing the world. Seeing as I have never been outside the U.S, I think the time is now. Since travel has been on my mind lately it has also spilled over in my wardrobe, home, etc.

Doesn't this dress make you want to get your beach on?

Any adventurer needs a compass right, right? It might as well be gorgeous such as this one that I found while drooling over all things etsy.

Photobucket

Seriously, could it be any cuter. Too bad rings make claustrophobic. I will need a necklace version perhaps.

I was watching one of those HGTV shows about people who buy vacation homes in other countries and about died when I saw an episode about Bali. Ooh my gosh, is that place dreamy or what?!

Photobucket

My goal is to leave the country once at least every other year starting this year. Each country is so different (from what I see in pictures or read about, obviously) both culturally and in the demographics. I love the idea that I can be in Desertville, AZ one day and in the tropical rain forest the next. World, here I come!! Now, to start the planning and saving for all these adventures. Holy excited right now.

Picture Collage

So, I have decided that I am going to start this blog mostly as a means of tracking all of the ideas and projects that are constantly spinning around in my head until it explodes. Right now, my current obsession is picture collages. I am still in the process of collecting frames, so actual pictures of what comes of this obsession are soon to come. I have been collecting ornate frames from thrift stores and I am going to paint them white and put a high shine varnish on them all and drench my hallway in memories.

Here is my favorite that I have found:
